2. Lady Jane, married, first, to John, Master of Berriedale, and was
mother of George, sixth Earl of Caithness; secondly, to Alexander, first
Lord Duffus; had three sons to her first, four to her second husband, and
died in child-bed, 31st march 1648. Lady Anne and Lady Jean Mackenzie
were served heirs-portioners of their father Colin, Earl of Seaforth,
29th November 1686, and ult. Februarii 1637. In these retours Lady Anne
is placed first, indicating that she was the eldest daughter. The titles
devolved upon his brother, George.
