Sir William Grantham, Knt., of Barcombe Place, Lord of the Manors of
Ccamois Court and of Balneath, Sussex, called to the Bar 1863, Q.C.
(1877), Bencher (1878), Judge of the High Court 1886-1911, J.P. for
Sussex, Chairman of Magistrates for East Sussex; M.P. for East Surrey
1874-85, and for Croydon 1885-6, when he was raised to the Bench. Sir
William was b. 23 Oct. 1835; m. 15 Feb. 1865, Emma (d. 21 Nov. 1933),
dau. and co-heir of Richard Wilson, of Chiddingly, and of Molesworth
House, Brighton, and formerly of Westmoreland, and had issue.
Sir William d. 30 Nov. 1911, and was s. by his eldest son.
