Donald MacKay... was born on 11th May 1859, and was an Engineer in
India and Burma. He retired in 1904, and lived in Hove, where he died in
1940. He married, in 1892, Joan (who died in Burma in 1900), daughter
of Mr. MacEwen, schoolmaster, Assynt, and his wife, Christina, daughter
of Angus Nicolson, Merchant, Portree, Skye, and his second wife,
Margaret, eleventh child of Neil MacLeod of the MacLeods of Gesto
[MacKenzie: HISTORY OF THE MACLEODS, pp. 197-8], with issue.
