Roderick, 2nd of the MacNeils of Vatersay, who died at a comparatively
early age, and apparently unmarried [MacLean Sinclair: THE MACNEILS OF
BARRA (The Celtic Review, III, p. 222).]. There are two poems by MacNeil
of Vatersay in Ranald MacDonald''s COLLECTION OF GAELIC POEMS, and the
Rev. A. MacLean Sinclair is of the opinion that they were composed by
Roderick, 2nd of Vatersay, whose maternal uncle, the Rev. Donald
MacLeod, was a good Gaelic poet [MacLean Sinclair: THE MACNEILS OF
BARRA (The Celtic Review, III, p. 222).].
