Was born on 12th April 1883, came, in 1888, to England, and was
educated at Bedford Grammar School, from which he passed to Sandhurst
in 1900. He joined the Indian Army, and was Captain in the 121st
Pioneers in 1910, and Major in 1916. He served during the First World
War in France and afterwards in Mesopotamia, and was mentioned in
despatches. He was killed in action, on 11th January 1917, at Kut el
Amara. He was unmarried.
