Rhoderick Alexander "Ra" Macleod... was born on 22nd February 1920. In
1940 he enlisted in The Black Watch and was commissioned into the
Seaforth Highlanders, but in 1941 he was seconded into the Northern
Rhodesia Regiment, performing intelligence duties in East Afriac until
1945 when he became an Area Intelligence Officer with the British Army
of the Rhine. In 1946 he was demobilised with the rank of Major and
emigrated to kenya where he took up farming for seven years before
joining the Kenya Police. In 1959 he took up politics and served as a
Junior Minister in the Kenyan Parliament. In 1964 he returned to Britain,
and, after a stint with Scottish Television Ltd., in 1967, he bought the
Salmon Fishings at Fascadale in Arnamurchan. He married on 14th July
1945, Stephanie Clara Tweedie ("Bobbie"), who was born on 10th
September, 1924, the only surviving child of Colonel Douglas Royle
Tweedie of Kitale, Kenya, with issue.
