Norman Alexander Macleod, MD... was born at Kershader in Lochs on 8th
August 1879. Educated at the Nicholson Institute and Glasgow
University, he graduated MB, ChB, in 1903. Most of his working life was
spent in Skipton, England, but he maintained a connection with Lewis by
buying, in 1925, Scaiscro Lodge in Uig with 8,600 acres of land. He died
in Bradford on 24th January 1947. On 29th December 1910 Dr. Norman
married Annabella ("Lab") Ross (born in Stornoway, 18th March 1880,
died in Skipton, 1st June 1970) the eldest child of Dr. Rhoderick Ross
(born erd December 1841, died 19th December 1912), Borve, Lewis, and
Isabella MacDonald (born 1847, died 27th April 1890).
