Donald... was a Captain in the 78th Highlanders, and afterwards a Major,
and was at the battle of Assaye. He commanded the Grenadier Company at
the storming of Fort Cornelis and Terquarta in Java, and was
favourably mentioned in Sir S. Auchmurty''s dispatches. He married a
daughter of Sir Berners Plaistow, London, with issue.
Donald MacLeod died, in 1824, at Gravesend, four years before his
father.
