Was an officer in the 1st Royal Scots Regiment of Foot, and was killed
in 1817, when leading the Grenadier Company at the battle of Mahidpore.
On account of his great height (6 feet 7 inches) his head was shot off by
a cannon ball. He married Mary, daughter of John Stuart, with issue, an
only son….
