The great pioneer of Gippsland in S.E. Australia. He married Colina,
daughter of John Campbell of Lochend and Inistore, Argyll, and his wife,
Annabella, daughter of Col. John Campbell of Melfort. They emigrated to
Van Diemen''s Land in 1821 and after residence for a time in Tasmania
and Norfolk Island, Archibald and his wife settled in Maryvale in New
South Wales in 1836. They had issue.
