son, Archibald Alexander McLeod. This Bible Record, written in 1936,
was passed to Scott Richard McLeod by Archibald''s wife, Esther Rogers.

[9 October 1998, NOTE: I came into possession of a bible from
Archibald Alexander McLeod from Esther Rogers. The information I have
comes from a family tree inside made in 1936 by Archibald. He verifies
his grandfather was Alexander. In that tree, Alexander''s wife is
identified as "Ann (Fraser?), of Halifax Nova Scotia". I assume that
notation means he was not sure of her maiden name and I found no church
record in Halifax or Inverness from the time to verify the name. That
tree also proved I was starting with the wrong Alexander. My
Alexanders parents were listed as William and Flora McLeod. The
interesting item in the tree was that they both had the same last name.
Since the rest of the tree uses accurate maiden names, I took this to
mean that her maiden name was in fact, also McLeod. Since this
Alexander record appeared to match up correctly with your online
database, I absorbed the rest of the information from your database
including the parent of Flora as John MacLeod of Gesto. My source notes
should indicate that correctly.
There are two family tree''s. The one I refer to as the "Ancient McLeod
Family Tree" is in a bible. The other is "Brenton McLeod Family Tree" is
also entered in a bible. These bible trees are on a series of 40 or so
pages that list marriages, children, birth dates, death dates, marriages,
etc.]
