and entered the East India Company''s service, in which he rose to be
Inspector-General of Army Hospitals. he died on 17th March 1890. Dr.
John MacPherson married a daughter of Sir N. Staples, Bart., with issue:
two sons, one of whom was Sir John Molesworth MacPherson, secretary
to the Legislative Council of the Governor-General of India.
