Is mentioned by James Boswell in connection with his own and Dr.
Johnson''s visit to Corrichatachan, Skye. After his return to London, Dr.
Johnson sent her a copy of RASSALAS as a gift. She married, in 1788,
John MacPherson, Uvia, Badenoch. Mrs. Grant of Laggan, writing from
Fort Augustus, on 5th June 1776, says: ''We have had a visit from the
new married couple, who are, doubtless, oddly matched. . . . She is the
person whom Johnson mention in his Tour . . . . She looks much up to that
surly sage, and receives letters and presents of books from him''.
Isabella and John Macpherson had issue, a son, Martin, who died young.
