There is a tradition that the MacLeods in Lewis, were, of old, in three
main branches:
Na Talmaich
Na h-Uallaich
Na Baranta
The MacLeods of Arnol claim to be members of the Na H-Uallaich.
Unfortunately, their descent cannot be traced beyond the 18th century.
Iain Uallach had a son, Donald, who in turn had a son Iain. This Iain was
married with issue, Gillechriosd, who in turn, was married with issue.
