Biography
!BIOGRAPHY: Rev. Dr. Donald MacKinnon and Alick Morrison, THE
MACLEODS--THE GENEALOGY OF A CLAN, Section II, Edinburgh, The Clan
MacLeod Society, 1968, p. 121. Joined the Madras Army in 1822. He took
part in the Burma War 1824-25 and was wounded at Syriam. He later
commanded troops in India, the Straits Settlement and the Pegu district
in Burma. He was appointed Lieutenant-General in 1872 and died in
1900. He married Jane Anne, daughter of Major Donald MacLeod (of the
Bernisdale family), Inspector General of Army Hospitals in Bengal, with
Issue.
