According to the BANNATYNE MANUSCRIPT William lived at Meidle in
the MacLeod ''country'', to which he had returned during the Chiefship of
Sir Roderick Mor MacLeod. he did not survive, however, for long after his
return. He was married, and left an only son, also William, who
succeeded him at Meidle.
