Was born on 28th October 1877 at Jedburgh, and educated at South
Kensington College, London, George Watson''s College, Edinburgh, and St.
Andrews University, where he graduated M.A. in 1900, and B.D. in 1902.
Licensed in 1903 by the Presbytery of St. Andrews, he was appointed
assistant in the Tron Church, Edinburgh, and on 11th May 1904 was
ordained minister of St. Margaret''s Church, Arbroath. He died on 16th
July 1907 at Fassifern, Kilmallie, Inverness-shire, and was buried in the
Churchyard of Kilmallie, "a bright and lovable presence, a pure white
soul, a gifted mind, a true heart". He was unmarried. To his memory a
brass lecturen was placed in Kilmallie Church.
