Norman MacLeod, born in 1811 at Llanstephan, Carmarthe, ... became a
Lieut.-General in the Dutch Army, Knight of the Oaken Crown, and
Aide-de-Camp to the King in 1869. He died at Gravenhage on 3rd April
1896. He married at Kampen in 1836 (1) Jacomina Joanna Esser,
1812-44, daughter of Mr. Pieter Hendrik Esser, Procurator General of the
Dutch East Indies and Advocate Fiscal of the High Military Law Court
there and (2) Megtilde Ardesh. Lieut.-General Norman MacLEod had issue
by his first wife.
