John Campbell MacLeod, L.S.I.A., was born on 12th July 1943 and was
educated at the Edinburgh Academy, Strathallan School, Perthshire, and
subsequently at the College of Art, Hammersmith, London, where he
completed a three-year course in Interior Design, gaining distinction in
the final examination.
He was elected a licentiate of the Society of Industrial Artists and
Designers and took up an appointment with the Special Projects Unit of
Messrs Honeywells Limited of London. in December 1969 John was
appointed Deputy Chief Design Consultant to Southern Command (Army).
John was commissioned Second Lieutenant to the 4th/5th Battalion,
The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) on Colour at the opening of
the Tay Road Bridge by H.M.Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, on
Tuesday, 18th August, 1966. A similar honour fell to him at the Royal
Review held in the Queen''s Park, Edinburgh, on 2nd July 1968 when Her
Majesty The Queen reviewed her troops in Scotland.
He was appointed Lieutenant in 1967.
John Campbell MacLeod matriculated his Arms at the Court of the Lord
Lyon, Edinburgh, on 8th January 1962.
He is a Member of the Council of the Clan MacLeod Society, London.
