The MacLeods of Balmeanach in Bracadale were descended from
Alexander MacLeod, 2nd of Glendale, whose third son, Donald, was their
progenitor.
Donald, 1st of the family of Balmeanach, was born about 1666. He
married, and had by his wife, of whom nothing is known, at least two
sons.
