Gordon (Colonel), O.B.E., A.M.I.MEC.E., ... was born on 16th July 1909 and
was educated at the Sydney Church of England Grammar School and the
Royal Military College, Duntroon. He served with the Royal Army Service
Corps in Egypt and Palestine during the riots in 1936 and was mentioned
in despatches for his services.
During the Second World War he served in the Middle East and Burma and
afterwards in Malaya, Trieste and Germany.
Colonel MacLeod is a graduate of the Staff College, Camberley, and
holds the degree of A.M.I.Mec.E.
He was awarded the O.B.E. in 1957, and promoted Colonel in 1958.
Retiring in December 1961, he returned to Australia, where he now
resides at "The Highlands", Leura, Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
In 1937 he married Mary Cheyne Thomson of Edinburgh, with issue, a
son, Ranald Alexander, who was born on 12th September 1946. Educated
at Drumtochty Castle School, Aberdeenshire, British Army School,
Dusseldorf and Leura High School, New South Wales. In 1971 Ranald
graduated B.A. at the University of Armidale, New South Wales, and has
now embarked on two years National Service with the Australian
Military Forces.

Lyon on 12th January 1962.
