Alexander, 9th in descent from Chief Iain Borb of Dunvegan, and II of
Glendale, fought as a youth at the Battle of Worcester, where he and his
father were taken prisoners. Young Alexander escaped on the day on
which his father died and made his way to Skye. He married Flora,
daughter of MacKenzie of Gairloch, by whom he had three sons.

[BANNATYNE MANUSCRIPT] where he was made a prisoner. He escaped,
however, on the day on which his father died, and in due course arrived
back in Skye. He married Flora, a daughter of Kenneth MacKenzie, 6th of
the MacKenzies of Gairloch, with issue.
Alexander, the date of whose death is unknown at present, was
succeeded by his eldest son.
