dau. of Roderick Mackenzie, 1st of Applecross, by his wife Florence, dau.
of Murdoch Mackenzie, 2nd of Redcastle, and d. ante 1648, having had
issue, with a daughter, Janet, who m. Duncan MacRae, 2nd of Inverinate,
and had issue (see 1952 Edn., MacRae of Clunes, formerly of Inverinate),
and another son, Giles (d. unmarried), a son and heir.

"He married, and left issue two sons.
"1. Alexander, his heir.
"2. John, who carried on the line of this family, of whom afterwards.
"He died in the reign of king Charles I. and was succeeded by his eldest
son."
