Donald William... was born in 1842, and entered the army, receiving a
commission as Ensign, on 27th July 1861, in the 109th Foot Regiment. He
was promoted Lieutenant on 22nd April 1864, Captain on 6th December
1873, Major in September 1886, and retired in April 1889 from the
Prince of Wales'' Leinster Regiment with the rank of Lieut.-Colonel. He
married, as his first wife, Annie Sinclair Campbell Russell, with issue.
Lieut.-Colonel Donald William MacKinnon married, as his second wife,
Isabella MacDonald, daughter of Alexander W. Cameron of the family of
Callart, withou issue.
