Neil, who was born in 1836, and had, by Mary MacRae, Craig, Lochalsh, a
son, Farquhar, who studied for the ministry of the Free Church of
Scotland at the University of Aberdeen, where he graduated M.A. in 1890,
and at the Free Church College there. He was ordained and inducted, in
1896, at Manish, Harris, his only charge.
