Was educated at Glenalmond and Sandhurst, was commissioned, in
1903, in the West Yorkshire Regiment. He was transferred to the 1st
Gurkha Regiment in 1907. Promoted Captain in 1912, he went to France
in 1914 as Adjutant of his Regiment, and was killed in action, on 12th
March 1915, at Neuve Chapell. Captain Gilbert Stuart Kennedy married,
in 1912, Helen Inglis, with issue, a son, Colin David Stuart, who was
born in May 1914, and is a Brigadier in the Royal Artillery. He married,
in 1939, Jane Paton, with issue.
