Was born on 16th April 1747, and was educated at King''s College,
Aberdeen, where he graduated M.A. on 30th March 1767. (He and his
brother, George, graduated on the same day). He was admitted minister
of Uig, Lewis, on 3rd July 1774, and died on 1st May 1823. He married,
on 27th November 1778, Janet, daughter of John MacAskill of the
MacAskills of Rudha an Dunain, Skye, [see "The MacAskills of Rudha an
Dunain" in THE CLAN MACLEOD MAGAZINE, 2, No. 16 (1951), pp. 22-7.]
with issue.
