William Sim... was born on 18th December 1841, served in teh 1st
Madras Light Cavalry and became a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Madras
staff Corps and Superintendent of the Central Jail, Vellore, and died on
7th March 1888. He was married on 18th January 1865 at St. Mary''s
Church, Fort St. George, Madras, to Charlotte Ludwig, a daughter of Dr.
Henry William Porteous, with issue.
