Roderick (?). A papal indult, dated 15th May 1403, is granted to
"Roderic Roderici Macliord, layman, Sodor diocese, to choose a suitable
and discreet priest as his confessor in mortis articulo." It seems likely
that this is a son of Roderick MacLeod, baron of Lewis, already seen in
correspondence with the papacy in 1405.

Roderick, "Roderic Roderici Macliord, layman, Sodor diocese, to choose
a suitable and discreet priest as his confessor in mortis articulo", [F.
McGurk (1976), p. 103.], is the subject of a papal indult of 15th May
1403. It is reasonable that he should be a son of Roderick, the "Baron of
Leows". The nature of the document suggests that he did not enjoy good
health and may have died early. The afore-mentioned indult of 9th June
1405 about a portable altar is perhaps linked with this privilege. [See
notes for this man''s father.]
