daughter of Captain Francis Johnstone of Garlieston, with issue.
John MacLeod died in 1878, and was succeeded in the representation of
the family by his son.

We are from the branch of John MacLeod (born 7 Nov 1803) and Isabella
Johnstone, who came to Australia in 1862. John is the eldest son of
William MacLeod, born 1781 and his wife Elizabeth McConnan (more likely
McCowan) and grandson of Patrick, born about 1735, and his wife Jean
McGowan.
