Alexander Magnus was the son of John Norman, third son of Major
Donald MacLeod, 6th of Talisker, and was born, on 7th August 1846, at
Borhoneyghurk, Moorabool, Victoria. He was educated at Scotch College,
Melbourne, and afterwards engaged in pastoral work at Talisker, Merino,
Victoria, and was Deputy Chief Inspector of Stock in South Australia. He
married Caroline, daughter of Francis Henty, one of the pioneers of the
Portland district, with issue.
Alexander Magnus MacLeod''s wife (Caroline Henty) died, on 1st October
1914, at Talisker, Merino, Victoria. He, having died, on 19th July 1910,
without male issue, was succeeded in the representation of the
MacLeods of Talisker by his brother.
