Was the progenitor of the MacLeods of Dalvey in Morayshire.
This Morayshire family of Macleods is descended from
Sheriff-Substitute Alexander MacLeod of Uilinish. His third son,
Alexander, became the founder of the family.
Was born in 1756 and joined the Army in which he rose to the rank of
Major. He married in 1796 Marion, daughter of Donald MacLeod (The
Trojan) of Berneray, by his third wife, Margaret, daughter of Rev. Donald
MacLeod 3rd of Greshornish, with issue.
