He was born, on 30th November 1808, at Talisker in Skye, and
emigrated with his parents to Van Diemen''s Land. he succeeded his
brother in the headship of the family, but held the dignity for only a few
months, having died towards the end of 1886. Alexander was succeeded
by his nephew.
