Emigrated to Australia in 1837, and prospered greatly as an extensive
sheep rancher. He entered the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, in
which he became Colonial Treasurer. He married Mary, daughter of Dr.
Strutt, with issue [See the MACLEANS OF BORERAY, pp. 68-70.] The Hon.
John Donald MacLean died, on 16th December 1866, as the result of an
accident.
