Ranald, who succeeded as 18th of Clanranald and married as his first
wife, Mary, daughter of Basil Hamilton of Baldoon and sister of the Earl
of Selkirk, with issue. He married in June 1759, Flora, daughter of John
MacKinnon of MacKinnon, 17th Chief, and by her, who died in 1820, had
issue. He was among the first to join Prince Charles Edward Stuart in
1745, and fought in all the actions of the campaign.
