This Lord entered into a fatal Quarrel with the Mackraynolds, which
cost him dear; for in a Conflict with that other Clan at Lochrochty in
Ross-Shire on the 2d of June 1544, both he and his eldest Son lost their
lives [Geneal. Famil. de Lovat.], besides a great many other Gentlemen of
the Frasers, to the number, say they, of eighty.
