John was born in 1704, and succeeded to the chiefship on his father''s
death in 1706, when he was an infant of two years of age. He seems to
have been a sickly child, an died soon after his father. John MacLeod of
Contullich attended his funeral at Perth. [Contullich''s accounts in
Muniment Room, Dunvegan Castle.] John, the child-chief was succeeded
by his brother.
